The term “social” is quite a misused and often misunderstood term. Most people think of raging parties and loud music when they think of a social event. However, Delta Chi offers more than just the typical social event.
We have list parties, date parties, formals, semi-formals, function, and homecoming parties. But we also have small group meetings and study sessions. We have other social events that are about socializing and getting to know new people.
That is the true meaning of social event. We teach our members how to handle themselves in a social situation, whether it’s professional or social. For examples at Regional Leadership Conferences and International Conventions we offer dining etiquette during dinner and there are educational programming events at all levels of Delta Chi on risk management best practices.
Our organization, along with all Delta Chi chapters, is covered by the FIPG risk management insurance policy. It dictates what we can and cannot do for parties and gives us safe guidelines to operate within. We have door monitors, wrist bands, alternative food and beverages, and party monitors. It’s about having a good time while making sure to be safe and watching out for our brothers.
